COMPANY & LEGAL
Privacy Policy
Transparency about information shared with Buildback.
Last updated:
1. Who we are & what this policy covers
Buildback is operated by Aditya Kumar, an indie developer based in India, under explorme.com. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, use the dashboard, or interact with a Buildback widget embedded on another website.
For account and website information, we determine how it is used to run Buildback. When a project owner collects feedback through our widget, we process that project’s content on their behalf. The project owner is responsible for their own collection practices and privacy notice.
2. Minimal information we collect
We collect the information needed to provide the Service, rather than building profiles for advertising:
- Account details: your email address and authentication information, handled through Supabase Auth, plus organization details you provide.
- Project data: project names, domains, settings, changelog entries, and feedback titles, descriptions, categories, statuses, and votes.
- Optional feedback contact details: an email address if you choose to provide one, so the project owner can follow up or send feedback notifications you request where that feature is available. You can submit feedback without an email address.
- Support and handoff messages: information you send when contacting support, or a developer’s email address and instructions when you ask us to send installation details.
- Essential technical data: request information, including IP addresses where available, used for security, spam prevention, troubleshooting, and service operation.
Do not include passwords, payment information, or other sensitive personal information in feedback or changelog content.
3. How we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts, manage organizations and projects, display feedback and changelogs, maintain vote counts, deliver requested service communications, and respond to support requests. We also use essential technical information to enforce rate limits, investigate abuse, and keep the Service working reliably.
Where consent is required, you may withdraw it by contacting us. Withdrawing permission for information essential to a feature may mean we cannot continue providing that feature. We may also process information where necessary to meet applicable legal obligations.
4. No trackers. No advertising profiles.
Buildback uses no third-party trackers, no Google Analytics, and no external tracking or advertising scripts. We do not sell personal information to advertisers or use your feedback to build advertising profiles.
Essential authentication cookies and browser storage help the product work. The widget stores a randomly generated voting identifier under fb_user_fingerprint and a per-project timestamp for changelogs you have seen. Despite its name, the voting identifier is not derived from device characteristics; it supports vote toggling rather than behavioral advertising.
You can clear this storage through your browser settings, which may reset your voting identity or unread indicators. Websites embedding Buildback may use their own cookies or analytics; those are controlled by the website owner and covered by their policies.
5. Storage, security & service providers
Account and project data is securely stored using Supabase, our database and authentication provider. We use authenticated access and database access controls to restrict private project information to authorized users, alongside Supabase’s infrastructure safeguards.
Infrastructure, hosting, and email delivery providers process the information necessary to deliver their services for us. These providers are used to operate Buildback, not to track visitors for advertising. Processing may take place outside your country, depending on the infrastructure used, and is subject to applicable legal requirements.
No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your credentials private and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
6. Visibility & disclosure
Feedback titles, descriptions, categories, statuses, vote counts, and published changelog content are available through the public widget. Do not submit content you expect to remain confidential. An optional feedback email address is available to authorized administrators of that project’s organization, but is not included in public widget responses.
We may disclose information when required by applicable law, to respond to a valid legal request, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of the Service and its users. We do not share information with advertisers.
7. Retention & deletion
We retain account and project information while it is needed to provide the Service and for legitimate operational or legal purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it, subject to applicable obligations. Limited records may need to be retained for security investigations, legal claims, or legal requirements; backup copies may remain until they are rotated out.
To request deletion of your account or personal data, email support@explorme.com. Include the email associated with your account and, for widget feedback, enough information to identify the project and submission. Do not send passwords. We may ask for proportionate verification before acting on a request.
If your request concerns a project managed by someone else, we may need to coordinate with that project owner. Closing one user account does not automatically remove organization content owned or managed by other users.
8. Your choices & privacy requests
You may contact us to request access to or correction of your personal information, deletion, withdrawal of consent where relevant, or to raise a privacy concern. We handle requests in accordance with applicable law and explain any legal or operational reason that prevents us from fulfilling a request.
Buildback’s account service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. Updates & contact
We may update this policy as the Service or legal requirements change. The current version is published here with its last updated date. We will communicate material changes through the Service or by email where appropriate.
For privacy questions, complaints, or data deletion requests, contact Aditya Kumar at support@explorme.com.
